The airport that serves Paleros Village and Western Greece is located in the town of Preveza, 25 kilometers from us (about a 40 minute drive). However, your main option of transportation is flying to Athens Eleftherios Venizelos airport and then completing the remaining portion of your journey by road. You can catch a bus to Paleros from the central bus station in Athens. Public transportation from the airport to the center of Athens is excellent with frequent and moderately priced train, metro and bus connections, but none of these will take you directly to the bus station. After you reach the center of Athens you will need to hire a taxi for the remainder of your journey which should cost no more than 10 Euro. You can also hire a taxi to take you directly from the airport to the bus station, a journey which can cost anywhere from 20 to 40 Euro depending on the traffic and the particular taxi.
An appealing option is to hire a taxi to bring you directly to Paleros which will cost approximately 30 Euro per person. Alternately, if your group consists of four travelers Antonis can arrange for a taxi from Paleros to pick you up from the airport with a fixed price of 30 Euro per person. For your departure journey you can opt to use Preveza airport. Because this airport offers a limited number of charter airlines, you will need to make any arrangements in advance to avoid problems. Another approach would be to fly from Athens to Preveza airport (and back) with Olympic Airlines. And if you have not yet decided which carrier to use, we would definitely recommend Olympic Airlines as an excellent choice for your journey.
Finally, if you are a large group of travelers, Antonis can hire a mini-van and pick you up from Athens airport himself. On your journey to Paleros, Antonis will drive you to the cradle of civilization, the ancient town of Delphi, for a personal tour. You will then approach Paleros from the south, via a coastal route of unforgettable beauty.
If your travel agency is unable to assist you, contact us and we will be happy to help you with your travel arrangements. We may also be able to suggest other alternatives not discussed here, such as travel by ferry from Italy! Check out our interactive map for a better idea of our location in relation to Preveza airport, Athens and the region. For more information including useful addresses and telephone numbers for local government agencies, bus schedules, etc. please see our local info page or follow these links. We look forward to meeting you.
